Challenge: Card from a Sketch II

Here is a sweet little "just because" card I made for A Crafty Little Place's Challenge #44: card from a sketch. I really like the pink and green together and enjoyed playing with a little bling to add some pizazz to my birdy.

Just Because Birdy Card

I fell in love with this little birdy and just had to make a card with it. I also found a button in my stash that I wanted to play with and am quite happy with the colours in this card. Now it's ready in my stash for when I need a cute little card to send to someone!

Challenge: Summertime at the Beach

Here is a card I made for Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog's Challenge Me Monday #15. I plan on giving it to one of my coworkers since we only have 1 week left of school :)! I played around with some silver ink (you can't really tell in the photo) but I inked in silver first, then pressed the stamp on a scrap piece of paper and then inked again in ebony black. The result was a sparkly charcoal colour which fit the card well!

Challenge: Celebrate Dear Dad

I had an twofold challenge this week: first for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog to "Celebrate Dear Dad" and second, my mother commissioned me to make a Father's Day card for her to give to my dad. Making a card for my father from my mother's point of view was definitely interesting. I am quite proud of the little dude I created which looks kind of like my father (he has a beard :) and I also learned how to layer in MTC which has opened a whole new world for me! I hope he (and she!) likes the card.

Just Because Card Set Box

I saw a video on Tammy's Blog Creative Critters Cricut Club showing how to make a card box and was inspired to make a set of cards and try my hand at a box. I used MTC for the butterflies and dragonflies on each of the cards and left the sentiments blank for now so I can personalize them later. Here is the end result!

Challenge: One for the Boys

Here's a rather masculine card I made for A Crafty Little Place's Challenge #43: One for the Boys. I like using black, blue, white and grey for male cards. This card is intended for one of my mother's coworkers at city transit who is retiring. I used Cricut Locker Talk for the bus and sign and MTC for the paddler image and the font.

Challenge: For the Bride

Here is a sweet wedding card I made for Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog's Challenge Me Monday #13. I "adore" the two cute little owls in the tree. I used Home Décor for the "Adore" font and Make the Cut to create the owls.

Challenge: Anything But Square

Here is a cute little owl card I made for A Crafty Little Place's current challenge: Anything but Square. I had originally thought of doing a flower or a garden, but was inspired to make an animal shaped card with cute layers.

More Appreciation Cards

Using the designer paper: "So Girly" I made a collection of cards for the students in my advisory group. I used the computer to make the "Summer is here!" labels and MTC for the butterflies and dragonflies. They got them this morning, and quite liked them. I can't believe it's already summer! I sure am going to miss some of my girls!

Appreciation Cards

Well, it's the end of the year which means time for certificates and awards. I run our student journalism group which create a biannual magazine called "The Queen". I decided to make them cards this year as recognition for all their hard work!

Just Because Card

I think I'm using my new hobby to procrastinate more than unwind :) Thankfully school is quickly coming to a close. Nothing but assemblies and ceremonies next week... then it's exams and marking *yay*  But, back to the fun stuff, I was inspired by the little birdy in the Home Décor Solutions cartridge and I wanted to use some brown ribbon I had saved from a previous birthday gift. Now I have a card ready for a sentiment when I need it :)

Challenge: Card from a Sketch

Here is my entry for A Crafty Little Place's Card Challenge. I based it on their sketch, which you can view on their blog. Wish me luck :)

Birthday Cards

It was my little nephew's 4th birthday over the weekend, so I made him this cute little card using my cricut and the MTC program. I am really enjoying being able to manipulate images using my computer! While I was at it I made a generic birthday card to add to my collection for those birthdays that pop up out of nowhere - now I will be prepared!
